About the Faculty

The Faculty of Linguistics and Translation was opened in 1994 and has more than 30 years of history.

Today the Faculty of Linguistics and Translation is:

  • an innovative educational space uniting talented and creatively working professors;
  • modern educational technologies;
  • lecture rooms equipped with multimedia boards, electronic tablets and other modern equipment;
  • effective management of the educational process with the help of innovative implementation structures;
  • strategic partnership with leading Chinese educational institutions and business structures;
  • a modern set of author's multimedia teaching resources;
  • active teaching and research work that develops scientific research skills;
  • successful practice of organising the educational process using credit-module and point-rating systems;
  • successful transition to a two-tier model of education.

There is an opportunity to acquire additional specialisation (at the student's request): foreign language teacher, translator, teacher of Russian as a foreign language, specialisation in international economics in the language centre ‘Glossa’.
