The Faculty of Chemistry actively develops scientific directions devoted to the study of chemical properties of solids; regularities of chemical processes in condensed media; synthesis and study of various functional materials. There are 7 Doctors of Sciences and 8 Candidates of Sciences working at the Faculty.
Every year the Faculty members publish the results of their research in peer-reviewed journals included in various citation bases: Condensed Media and Interfacial Boundaries; Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry; Inorganic Materials; Izvestia vysshee obucheniya; Non-Ferrous Metallurgy; Izvestiya vysshee uchebovodnya uchebovaniya; Chemistry and Chemical Technology; Russian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals; Surface & Coatings Technology; Butler Communications; Pure and Applied Chemistry; Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A; Journal of Solid State Electrochemistry; Corrosion, Material, Protection; Industrial Laboratory; Journal of Analytical Chemistry.
The Faculty organises the traditional scientific and technical conference Student and Scientific and Technical Progress, various scientific competitions for undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition, the staff and students of the Faculty participate in all-Russian and international conferences, such as Mendeleev Congress on General and Applied Chemistry; Achievements of Young Scientists, Chemical Sciences, Ufa; Problems of Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, Yekaterinburg, and others.
